I only indirectly found out about this today - the Federal Government (specifically the Department of Industry, Science and Resources) is consulting on a National Electric Vehicle Strategy. Submissions close 31 October:

The paper is a bit light on detail (only 15 pages of content), but covers things like fuel efficiency standards, incentivising EV uptake, improving the EV charging network etc. The questions asked are very high level.
