New model 3 - double license plate holder

So finally have my model 3 and it's an amazing piece of tech!
Lots of small issues on collection (but that's a different story) and not knowing when it was actually going to turn up.... but worth the wait!

Anyway it looks like there are 2 license plate holders one on top of another. Doesn't look great but assuming this is normal for some reason?
Think I saw a post somewhere about how to remove and make it look nicer/tidier online but I can't seem to find it!
Anyone know how easy it would be to tidy them up and remove at least one?
Can't see an easy way to get started..

Not mine but looks like this
And someone looks like they've fixed it as well on Facebook group

Basically the model 3 number plate is inside a plastic plate holder, which is itself mounted on a plinth (hence why it looks like a double thickness plate holder).

Some owners have removed the holder and then stuck the plate directly on the plinth using 3M tape. Others have gone a step further and removed both the plate holder and the plinth, and stuck the plate directly to the car.

There are a few examples with pics in the various facebook groups e.g. Tesla Owners Group UK, Tesla Model 3 Owners
