How much performance (acceleration) is lost running an average charge of 50% most of the time vs 75%? I figured I'd charge to 80% so the car would keep near max performance at the end of my 50 mile commute.

Depends on the model. The RWD LR will have less affect than the Performance because they have the same battery and the output requirement from the battery on the Performance model is much greater than the single-motor.

Here's some data from the Performance model -->

Here are the 0-60mph times WITH rollout calculated by my Draggy.

SOC . Time
100% 3.33 sec
90% 3.32 sec
80% 3.38 sec
70% 3.41 sec
60% 3.48 sec
50% 3.52 sec
40% 3.52 sec
30% 3.67 sec
20% 3.63 sec
10% 3.86 sec

Yes I apologize for geeking out on the data. Typically yes the curve drops once you get below 90%. Heck, even 80% is fine.

The tldr of the battery is basically if you’re charging it to 100% for a trip, do it so you are leaving ASAP once you’re at 100%. Don’t let it sit overnight etc as this will put more stress on the battery.

Wow. Let your battery get to 10% and you end up with a slow car. 3.86 seconds for 0-60 is terrible.

Seriously though, that is amazing. I had no idea it would still be crazy fast at 10%. I'm getting the AWD; hopefully it keeps its pep down to 10% as well.

Here's a video testing the AWD at various states of charge. Skip ahead to see results posted on screen in the video.
