Current response from Center for Sustainable Energy® regarding the program starting back up July 1

“Unfortunately, we do not have information to provide about future phases. Vehicle transactions that occur while the program is paused will not retroactively qualify for the program upon resume.


Currently, no additional funds are anticipated for FY 23. However, we will keep you updated on information regarding FY 24 funding for Charge Up New Jersey as directed by the NJ Board of Public Utilities.”

I wrote to them and they provide the standard answer of “you will be notified” when FY starts. Rebate will only be 1500 for EVs of 40K.

The site briefly went live stating FY 2024 opened up today 7/12. It just reverted back but I'd expect an announcement today.

Program just got funded but customers like myself that purchased a Tesla before July 12 and after April 17 won’t qualify for rebate. I find this unfair and does anyone have further information or a online petition?

It has been very clear every year that if you bought the car when it wasn't funded you would not get the rebate.
