I think the misleading bit of the term "self charging hybrid" is that it implies the car has some sort of real EV credentials - such as reducing tailpipe emissions or having lower overall CO2 consumption. I can see that in a technical sense the car is indeed "self charging" insomuch as no external device is needed to charge the battery. But that's totally missing the point.
