I hope I don’t get flamed on this and it might be a silly question but has anyone thought about putting OEM Wheels from another manufacture? I’m just browsing around and there’s tons of nice 20” wheels at 5x114.3 that I’m coming across. These for example look like the T sportlines and I can find a complete set easily for $700. Also the thinking is that if one does fail...instead of trying to reorder one wheel at an exuberant price you can grab source another wheel/set easily. Of course you need to make sure you get Hub centric rings for the different bore and make sure the offset fits. Thoughts?

Not just oem, aftermarket selections for other model/make are so much larger than Tesla, as long as all the measurement fits, why not... but usually there’s something slightly off such as hub (which you can buy ring adapters), or a lot of Jdm 5x114.3 are m12 (may need to drill out)...

I'm not following you; I swear.

I found some Mercedes wheels I liked a lot and felt they suited the Model 3 well.
Mercedes wheel Specs:
Size:19x8.5 Offset: ET52 Bolt pattern: 5x112 Center-bore: 66.5mm

Every measurement except size did not match that of the Model 3: The Tesla Model 3 Wheel and Tire Guide

I had some custom adapters made at 20mm and 25mm thickness front and rear respectively. This would take the offsets to ET32 front and ET27 rear. The adapters converted the bolt pattern and center-bore as well.

I wrapped them in 245/40/19 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+
