As of late last night I am no longer able to edit my config. Maybe today is the day. Has anyone heard if the carbon wings will be available soon? And hopefully enough for all orders?

hmm i haven’t had edit button since end of june, but still no word. 6/27 is when i upgraded from AWD to P+
interesting the varying acct behavior between people who are/aren’t being updated with progress

Has anyone received a Blue P3D+ with black seats?

I called the regular Tesla customer suppport line and was told I had been assigned a VIN and a delivery specialist. They wouldn’t tell me the VIN though (maybe it’s not available yet). I haven’t been able to modify since Sunday. Still no call/email, but was told to expect something by Wednesday.

Good to hear. My edit button was gone last Friday but I haven’t Hear anything. Hopefully soon.

Just like @ghostbusta I just called the customer service number which directed me to the Vegas call center just to inquire on the order. Even though the order info on the Tesla manage page seems stuck at "drafting contract" and "prepare for delivery" like most of us in here, he said - "You just got a VIN! Congrats! your wait is nearly over my friend" I inquired about the VIN and he said it was in the 72,000 range but didn't have authorization to release it. So... it may be worth the effort, to ease the anxiety, if you just give a quick call. (it was a 3 minute hold this morning - but im sure it jumps to 1/2hr + at times... Call them up!

3/31 Before reveal online, 6/27, All options, Black Black no changes to order since 6/27

good to see someone else in Fl getting their order moving along. I'm frustrated and still waiting. Couldn't have ordered any sooner (first day in person), couldn't have configured any sooner (June 27th 5:30AM), and am a previous owner. Yet I sit here wtih no progress whatsoever. It's quite frustrating.

Some of us are day one line waiters, current owners and ordered P3+ on 5/20 (like me) and still have no progress. I love Tesla but I hate they way they decided how to complete orders.

I’m a manufacturing operations manager in a different field.

It’s painful to wait (I check my account routinely hoping to see progress) but first come first serve just doesn’t make much sense in a production environment. Batching helps improve not only efficiency on the actual manufacturing line, but also supply chain efficiency. Think about what a PITA it would be to swap the paint booth over to a different color multiple times per day. Or to have to hold an extra several thousand front motors as working capital while you made only RWD vehicles. That’s just stranded cash that’s doing nothing for the business while it sits in inventory.

Once you have all the parts available and get the line setup for a particular run, you want to stay on it as long as you can without causing a serious impact to other customers (“serious” meaning the incremental impact of lost business or price erosion is larger than the efficiency gained). And if you are looking at the business as a whole, you’d prioritize your highest margin orders and work on managing expectations for everyone else.

Add in Wall Street expectations around total number of vehicles per week and the manufacturing priorities make a lot of sense.

That all said, I really want my P3D+ too and I’ve only been waiting a couple weeks!

Good info, thanks for sharing!

On an unrelated note, two of the charts don't appear to match up ( @lairdb ):

One shows 4 VINs assigned, the other shows 7.

I'm happy for all of ya'll who got VINs! Though it makes me sad that I haven't gotten mine :(
I was one of the first to put in a reservation on 3/31/16 (must have been in the first 6,000 to 10,000 worldwide) and put in the order on 5/23/2018 (the $2,500 deposit that is) and I have not gotten a VIN assigned yet. I called Tesla and confirmed that no VIN has been assigned yet. So, rest assured there are others in the same boat. I hope this wave keeps going for a few weeks so we can both get our VINs. I am a non-owner, which I think you are too. So, the non-owners will be coming after this first wave of previous owners I believe.

It's more likely geographic rather than owner status. Are you on the west coast? I've already been contacted as a non-owner (3/31 & 5/23), but I'm in Ohio.

I am East Coast near Washington DC. Metallic Blue paint, I know Tesla has been making other P3D+/Black Seats with Metallic Blue paint this week, so we shall see.
