Parked car, popping noise, stress fracture in rear glass. $825 to repair?

I know this crops up from time to time. I have a Model 3 made in December 2018, which has been fantastic and very low incident rate. 26k miles.

I was sitting in the drive through of an In & Out in Northern California, about 70°F, and heard two loud popping noises. Nothing impacted my car, but there were two cracks that formed on the back of my window! Stress fracture?

Made service appointment with Tesla for a few weeks out, and they want me to approve $825 repair cost. How can I contest? What is the mechanism? Has anyone gotten this type of service covered? How can this not be under warranty? I suppose there is no way to prove there was no object impact?

Appreciate any advice. Thank you.
