Passenger front handle not presenting and light is on behind it when car is locked

Does this sound like a typical door handle breakage? I can hear a motor going when I try pressing on it but it looks to be trapped shut?

Yep, standard failure. Micro gear continues to try to present the handle, but can’t, so keeps spinning its wheels. Light stays on. Sometimes it’ll timeout and give up.

Broken paddle gear (or very rarely the drive gear on the motor itself)...are you still under warranty? Easy ranger fix.

Same thing happened to me over a week ago. Still waiting on a Ranger to contact me. First appointment was over two weeks out..

Damn that sucks. It hasn’t even been a week and this happened. Plus my car has wrapped door handles and service said I’ll have to redue the wrap on a new handle beside they replace the whole thing

You might not need to/get a whole new assembly. If it is the paddle gear then that is a quick fix. No new handle. Wrap says in place.
