If you are going to attempt it on your own, definitely use the decal from Vortex. I've seen one of the do-it-yourself projects and it looked like crap.
You also don't know about the durability of the vinyl you might be using and if it is safe to put over your paint.

My wife did the woodgrain vinyl on the center console with templates and even it was a tough job. She has patience. I would have botched it for sure.

There is a reason these come in two sets for installation errors.

I like it, but on the blue maybe the glossy black would look better since it would match with the gloss blue and the glossiness of the glass on top. Either way it doesn't pop as much on the blue as it does on the white and the red.

Agreed, which is why I didn't end up doing it on my blue Y.

Looks awesome, I would like to do this for my vehicle. I don't feel like splurging on the pre-cut panels though (190$+ in Canada is what I am seeing).

Did you just buy 2ft x 6ft roll from Vvivid?

I bought the 12" x 20 ft and cut into 6" and whatever the length was. 6" was enough for one side.

This looks amazing. Might even consider doing this wrap all the way across the glass roof too. As most of you know after owning the car for a while the novelty wears off and it's just heat. I don't really have passengers often so kinda unnecessary for me.
