Potential Model 3 App

So, reading the comments on the lack of a screen behind the steering wheel got me thinking about an easy way to solve the issue for those that want such a screen. I posted in the thread about that, but I am really curious now about how hard it would be to make an app. I am assuming that the prototype is fairly close to production. The Tesla rep made several comments about the central screen and lack of a second screen for instruments. How hard would it be to take the info already available in the current Tesla app (battery percentage and speed) and make an app with an easy to read display on one's smart phone or small tablet? There is room to mount that at the base of the windshield or on the dash right above the steering wheel. That way, if you want the info front and center, it's there. I'm not a developer. Can anyone who is opine on how difficult it would be to do that?
