Production to Delivery

Hello all,

First of all thank you all for sharing your experiences. I learned a lot.

I ordered my Model X on August 18th (and yes I did update the spreadsheet) the VIN was confirmed 3 days later and now it says the car is in production.

Here is my question...How long does it take from production to delivery?

I got an email from my delivery specialist few days ago (before it went in to production) about me selecting a delivery center. I asked him if he has a delivery date for me as I was given 3rd or 4th week of September at the time of order. He said its 10/5, but now I see that the car is in production.

Can you guys please share your experience with me? I'm trying to manage my own expectation as this car turned me in to a 37 year old child with out any ability to wait lol

I never realized there was a black seats/light headliner option! Interesting.

The spreadsheet says usually between 51-65 days from order to delivery, depending on where you are in the country.

I looked up a couple examples from the tracking spreadsheet and it seems like approximately 1 month from production to delivery on the East Coast. So I would say the 10/5 date seems likely.

My car went into production on Aug 25. In transit Aug 31. Cannot deliver in Florida until Oct. 1. I think delivery is having trouble keeping up with all of the model 3's. I bought an x in February and transit and delivery took 3 weeks.

I wanted to get the all white interior but I have 2 kids and I will be upset the first time they spill something.

Jabe99, you would think there are plenty of trucking companies who would love to land a hand to solve delivery issue for Tesla. But, what do I know

i think you'll get your car before 10/5. tesla will really try to push those 3Q deliveries. I just ordered my car and it says late September delivery.

First MX was ordered on Jul 17th and was delivered this past Friday. Our second MX was (re)ordered on Aug 13th and we were told it will be delivered around Sep 15th, slightly faster than the first. Anecdotally, it looks like delivery depends on when it was ordered in relation to their production cycle and location. I found that proactive communication with both OA and DS helped.
