(n00b 1st post) Enhanced Autopilot or Full Self-Driving Capability in MX, 100% software upgrade only? Or, HW too?

Hello,

Preparing to pull trigger on a 2024 MX gen2.

Is my understanding correct in that Enhanced Autopilot and FSD options CAN BE added "after purchase" ?

If true, then is the upgrade a purely OTA software upgrade? Or some form of hardware upgrade(s) needs to be done at the dealer service?

Well, my EVA journey with Tesla starts tonight, with MX order.

Plowing through ton of online materials.

Trying to stay at and under $80K to receive the point-of-sale discount of $7,500 ...

It's a SW update. The only update that requires new hardware that I'm aware of is the garage door opener on the 3 & Y.

EAP is all I had on my PY, since I wasn't sure how long I'd keep it. I will do at least that on my PX.

Enhanced or FSD are both OTA.
I recommend neither at this time. I don’t think more than half of those features work on HW4. I didn’t get either in my 2023 Model X w/HW4.
