Pretty excited, put a deposit on 2018 red P100D with 5k miles, which apparently was never titled. Could not turn down the crazy deal... and full warranty, which starts at delivery date. From description looks like the car has every option, except ludicrous mode. It is hard to stomach $20K for quicker 0-60 only... Coming from 2016 Audi S6 with tune, which is not a slouch, but this... Immediate torque sold me.
Hopefully, will pick her up by April 1 or before
Any advice on what to look for at the time of delivery, as well as general maintenance issues and such would be greatly appreciated.

Congrats! Can I ask is your delivery advisor out of Paramus or Springfield? I’m thinking of trading up before the end of the quarter and want to see what kind of deals are out there. If Paramus, can you PM his/her contact details.

They are really wanting to move things by end of quarter. I took delivery of a new inventory 100D with 900 miles on it on 3/16, was originally scheduled for 3/19. Be prepared for a potential phone call moving it to this week!

When you pick it up, have them explain the due bill process. My understanding now is you have 3 days to note any cosmetic defects, which they will then rectify. I found all this out much later, from this forum. At delivery, we noticed 3 small chips in the hood and techs agreed it was thru the clear coat and delivery specialist told me they would repaint the hood. Here is our conversation right before I signed papers:
Me: "OK, where is the language on the hood repaint agreement"
Delivery guy:"Well I just put it in the due bill and the paint shop will call you"
OK put that in writing
"It will be in the due bill"
OK, print me out a copy of that before I sign anything
"I can't print it out, there is no option to do that"
OK, do something, because I'm not proceeding with this deal until I get it in writing.
"how about an email"
OK
email: "I'll have our Paint Rectification team give you a call to discuss repairing your hood at no cost to you"
Haha, a call to discuss something is not what I'm asking for. My response - I'll take delivery today if you agree to repair the scratches on the hood for free
revised email: "We will take care of the hood, free of charge"
At this point I'd been there nearly 2 hours, I was not comfortable with "take care of" since it did not say "repaint", but they wore me down. Said ok and signed.

Was not permitted to drive the car before signing for it. Don't really understand this, you're dropping so much money for a vehicle, ANY other dealer would allow this. But I was desperate and they already had my $2500 deposit.

I have a service appointment tomorrow morning for the hood repaint, wish me luck.

Good luck with yours!

Thank you! That’s exactly what worries me, to purchase the car unseen and how they will handle issues with the car should they arise. The car should arrive tomorrow, puck up on Friday, (interest rate goes up by a half a point as of 4/1) I’ll try to do my best to get there before delivery. As to not allowed to drive, I’ll simply walk if they’ll try it with me. Hope everything will be okay, just as they promised. Don’t want to start my ownership experience in the shop, scheduling appointments, etc... I don’t really need a new car, or am in a rush, just ask my wife, lol.

One more thing, if the damage to the hood is minor, I’d refrain from repainting the whole thing, they have ppl who can fix it, without doing that. They do an outstanding job.
You never know how the repainted panel may turn out when the time comes to trading her in or selling.

Good luck to you!

Then I guess you’re walking, they won’t allow it. Many have tried and I haven’t heard of anyone actually being able to test drive a new car before signing for it.

One way to find out... I don’t see a reason why should they say no, after all this car has 5k miles on it. Thay have my deposit and run credit report. I owned many fast, expensive cars and always test drove them prior to purchase, except once with GT R, which I didn’t buy for that exact reason. Thanks for heads up, I’ll text my sales advisor about that.

It’s a weird policy they have. I mean they got your deposit. You are approved for a loan (if going that route)
They let you test drive a vehicle without any of that prior to placing deposit but refuse to let you test drive the car you want to buy. Strange.
