Raleigh area: interested in co-buying Chademo adapter?

Yea, I plan on taking trips to Nashville and DC. Once the SC network gets flushed out, probably no need for adapter, but that might take 2 years.

I will have a level-3 CHAdeMO installed at our building in Pittsboro, NC near hwy 64 in January / February '14. Hopefully Tesla rolls the adapter out by then!

A handful more will be going in around NC during the year as part of an EV initiative.

Hmm, that makes it more tempting to buy a share of an adapter! Although given that I'd likely be using it on maybe a few days notice desiring to depart Raleigh before dawn, would probably need to arrange for some sort of 24x7 outdoor lockbox to provide painless access for the keeper & the borrower. That and some simple online tracking to know if it was "checked out".

Agreed. This would make it much more attractive for me.

Do you have more details on this "EV initiative"? I'm wondering if it would help fill in areas in the east side of the state like around Asheville.

I would love to have a Chademo charger in Burlington so my wife's Leaf can travel between Raleigh and Winston-Salem.

Who do we petition to add cities for the EV initiative?

The program stopped taking commercial submissions for participatory funding earlier this year, however destination sites have not been named yet TMK. The sites should be announced very soon since it required a Q1-2014 roll out.

I will ask around and see if I can find where sites will be.

Just to clarify, he's probably referring to Makoto's, which as I recall is also home to one of the first EVSEs in the state.
