Re-install of factory links for air suspension

Anyone have any tips for re-installing the factory plastic links without breaking anything? Does the entire swing arm unit need to be unbolted and removed? Have not been able to get the link on the ball by hand (tight fit). Thanks for any input!

Thanks, I’m actually just replacing the little plastic link for the ride height. I currently have n2itve lowering links. These actually need to be removed and re-greased every so often.
