Recommendation for Parking in midtown Manhattan

Visiting NYC next month, any recommendation for parking in midtown around the Hilton midtown? Self parking or valet? There is a robo parking facility on 47th st, has any one used it with an MX? Or should I just park in NJ, like Princeton Junction and take the train in.

I always preferred to use the Hamilton station over Princeton Junction. The parking is easier. Hamilton has a parking ramp as well.

But I have used the west side parking at Princeton Junction upon occasion.

Parking in NYC is just too difficult and expensive. Trains to NYC and then Lyft, Uber or Subways are much quicker and cheaper.
