Red Performance 3: Gloss or matte black wheels?

I’m about to pul the trigger on wheels. Am going for black, as I want to minimize the number of colors on the car. Thinking of tint and chrome delete as well, so red+black will be the look.

So, do I get gloss back or matte black? Like in these new arachnid-like flow-forged wheels from Tsportline:

Am also debating 19 vs. 20 inch, but their 20-inch kit is summer rubber only. I need all-seasons, because California reasons.

Why don't you just powder coat your existing wheels? Also, I would go with satin black as that is the type most often used for chrome delete.

I also need to replace the tires (for all-season), and well I want to personalize the car. New wheels are a pretty good start me thinks!

Matte Black will be my choice. It will go a logo better with gloss red body.

Matte black and satin black look like plasti dip so if you want that cheap pep boys look go with one of those


Now, if you want a sick proper premium look you always go with Gloss Black

Gloss can look plastic, and unless you plan to clean them daily...always dirty.

Matte is subtle, and looks fairly clean with brake dust...just more matte haha.

I always prefer the dark gray/charcoal look vs. pure black.

Haha true! Ok, so it hides hazy road dirt hahah.

Love those wheels. I’ve always had Rotas for my 05, 08 (hatch), 11 WRX, and now 18 STI.
