Got my MSM LR a few weeks ago. Just finished PPF Stealth wrap with vinyl stripe. Still need to get windows tinted. 7k for wrap with ceramic, red stripe and red painted logos.

EDD beginning 30AUG... I've heard the paint needs time to cure before PPF being applied but haven't seen that followed everywhere - fake news? If it's true, what temporary protection can I install while waiting? I'm on about 2 miles of gravel before I hit paved roads. 🦝

From what I have heard, factory paint doesn’t need additional cure time since it is baked. Only if car is repainted by a body shop does there need to be cure time. However, I was not able to find any good sources or evidence to confirm this. None of the PPF shops I spoke to seemed to have any concern.

I ended up getting my PPF & tint from Executint OC in Mission Viejo, $4995 for full car Xpel Ultimate Plus, $695 for Xpel Prime XR Plus on all windows, with $325 additional for windshield. I would give tint job 5 stars, PPF 4.5 stars (few small defects and a couple edges that aren't perfect, but most people wouldn't notice). They do not do ceramic coating.

I did ceramic coating through Ultimate Custom Car Care in Tustin, $790 for 1 layer Ceramic Pro PPF/Vinyl plus 1 layer top coat (includes wheel faces and calipers, as well as all glass), plus $150 for interior ceramic coating.

Here's a spreadsheet I compiled when getting quotes for all the services if you are interested:
2021 Tesla Model S Tint PPF Ceramic (OC)
Thanks! Your car looks great!! Good reference information as well. Appreciated.

That's what I've discovered as well. I guess there's...one...way to find out...😬😅

For the front emblem, I got a carbon fiber direct replacement (just 3 screws to change it) from Amazon:

For the rear, I ordered a gloss black plastic replacement emblem from eBay:

I also ordered a carbon fiber rear emblem from eBay, but haven't received it yet. Will update if I install it.

The detail shop did apply a coat of ceramic over the emblems.
Links to Amazon? Trusting these are universal for Tesla’s all models? (Getting a refresh lr ms) thanks

There has been a great deal of PPF/Ceramic discussion within the delivery thread, so hopefully we move it over here.

I still have approximately 3 months before delivery, but the delay has allowed me plenty of time to research local shops. As it stands right now, I have a great shop here in MD within 15 minutes of my house who carries XPEL products and Gtechniq ceramic coatings. Quote was full PPF, tint everywhere except windshield, and Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light for $6,500. I have two more shops to consider. I'm going to see if they toss the windshield in for the same price.

Good thing I have time!
