So I have had my tesla 85 for two years now and I just got my Michigan registration renewal and it was 450$ when it was 180$ everytime before that. any thoughts?

Are you sure the first year wasn't just a prorated ad valorem payment? Looks like Michigan tries to line up registration with your birthday, so you might have only paid for 6 months the first time around. Then the next time it would be for the full 12-month period. This chart indicates that a $90K vehicle would be $416 for ad valorem the second year. Plus whatever other fees they normally charge.
