Repairing model Y wheels?

Model Y wheels seem to have two layers: a plastic-like layer on top with eye metal layer underneath. I recently hit a curb, scraping the rim but also knockin off a large layer of this upper “plastic layer”. Does anyone know how to repair or fix this layer? Thanks.

Please post a photo. In general the Tesla Model Y wheels can be repaired by sanding, priming and painting with matching paint. There are probably at least a couple of wheel repair businesses near by that can come to your location, repair the wheel in about an hour for ~$150.

Does anyone know how to repair or fix this layer?

A friend of mine curbed his Uberturbine wheel more than 180° around and got it repaired by these guys. Santa Ana Wheel He had to ship his wheel to them, but they are local to you.

Yes, it is repairable. I just had an uberturbine repaired using body filler, they said it was a thick layer of powdercoat. Though, it feels like plastic where it was chipped away. I annihilated my wheel and they smoothed it out pretty well.
