Replacing cabin air filter and cleaning evaporator fins in 2021-2022 MS

Don't know yet, he said he is going to try but we will see. Ill post back once I get my car back.
Sorry, been a while (forgot about this post).
They ended up replacing my whole HEPA assembly under warranty. They said they found a crack in the case that was leaking water. They showed me a video of it leaking, it was pretty bad. It appeared to me to be leaking form the evap case. The video was in very tight so not much to use as a frame of reference of where the video was from.
But been a month and no smell. But I also have the Filterwares and the water dam mod going on.

For Refresh Model S Palladium:
I pulled out my 15x15" under frunk HEPA filter and smell went away right away, after driving with no filter for a few days; night and day difference right away. Tesla now sells just the 15x15 under the frunk bio hepa filter, and you no longer have to buy the entire housing. Good update I think, and service quoted $115+tax for part which I am installing myself:

This was a great post. I went in a few weeks ago and it was the whole kit including the enclosure and went in on Sunday and sure enough I was able to order this. I have the sock and will be installing the dam as soon as this kit comes in.

Did anyone spray any evaporator cleaner or other substance down/inside the HEPA enclosure or cabin filter area to neutralize the socks smell or does it just go away with the work here ?

It just goes away once the filter is replaced. It does not appear possible to get to the evaporator with the current design.

I installed the sock a month ago when i replaced the hepa and cabin filters. This is what it looked like yesterday. The sock is an excellent pre filter !
You inspired me to check mine. Installed on 12/19/2023.

When I pulled the filter off, I found some pollen on the inside of the inlet which confused me. I then found this... Unfortunately the filter doesn't cover this gap. I folded the grey foam that Tesla has into this gap which should reduce but not eliminate it. I'll have to get some foam to squish into that gap.

There’s a gap? Hmm.

Do you have the updated hepa filter housing?

Looking at some pictures online of some used HEPA filter covers for sale, they do look different to what I have, so I'm guessing there was some kind of change between '21 and '23. A bigger sock might be needed for the late '23's and up to cover that gap.
I don’t recall seeing that gap on the new one. The intake is the same size so no difference in the sock.
The newest design does a better job of channeling water away from the hepa filter (which is the source of the stinky feet smell).

This is from a '21 Model S, so something has changed since then. There's no gap under the top lip that the foam attaches to.

I looked at my new hepa intake cover. Yes there is a tiny tiny gap below the foam strip. Most interesting. I don’t have any appreciable pollen ingress into the intake but even if I did, the goal of the sock is to keep water out, not regular fine air dust/pollen. That’s what the hepa filter is for.

I’m going to leave mine as is. I don’t see this as a problem that needs solving.

The foam trim presses against the underhood cover panel. And it’s open cell foam not even closed cell foam so it’s porous
Interesting. I would not have thought it could draw enough airflow through just that foam considering what gets delivered to the cabin when the fan is on HI but that does make sense from a 'why is there foam there' perspective. I doubt it seals that well considering the picture I posted above of my sock would not have been likely (to have that much buildup on top of the sock) if that sock was nicely pressed up against the under side of the frunk.
