Reset TPMS

So, I have my wife's 2020 Model X, with v2020.48.26
I also have my 2018 Model S, with v2020.48.12.1

My Model S has a "reset TMPS" option.
My wife's Model X does not have that option.

Am I missing it because of the software update? Or was it never there because it's a newer/different car?

Thanks.

Hi @SoCalNick,

I may get roasted for this but...

My 2018 X does not have this button and never did...

My wife's 2015 S does have the button but it is greyed out.
She has Continental TPMS - the same as most Tesla cars.

Early 2015 and earlier cars with Baolong TPMS could only be
serviced at the Service Center or with a TPMS tool.

At a point beyond 2015 there was a need for the Reset TPMS button,
maybe when you switch tires summer to winter or back.
They removed this button several software releases ago...
There was a huge outcry for it to return to Model S.
Apparently it is now back...

With that being said - I do not see a reason for any of your cars to have it or to need it...

Good luck,

Shawn

I need it to put snow tires on my wife's car without having to go to the service center.
I purchased my X new in 2017 and bought the Tesla Snow Tire package which the service center installed that year. I have changed between the two sets of wheels twice a year since then without any TPMS reset button and without any service center involvement. I believe the manual even indicates that you simply need to drive (perhaps with some specifics). In my previous vehicle, you needed to stay above 25 MPH for 10 minutes straight to reset it, but as far as I can tell, it takes less than that in a Model X.

It’s automatic in most cars.

As long as it shows a dynamic pressure your good.

It may prompt on first drive.

Also changing tire sizes should reset it too. If same size tire, change it and change it back.
