Good Evening All,

Currently deciding between two different S's.

Both are 21k CAD

Mid 2015 70D, AP1, solid roof, 160k km's bronze on black https://www.autotrader.ca/a/tesla/model s/oakville/ontario/5_6210012

2016 90D, AP1, pano roof, 270k km's, blue on beige.

With the 70D I can get a third party 5 year unlimited km warranty for $3k. Covers most things, besides HV Battery, door handles, wear items, things like that.
Extended Vehicle Warranty for Tesla | CBI & Finance

I really want the 90d for the extra range etc , but I think with Teslas being Teslas the third part warranty, might win out.

Thoughts?

Edit:70D has Mcu2 and 90D has mcu1

Thanks
Steve

I would go for the 90D on the basis that a warranty that excludes the HV battery and other frequently faulty parts is not worth having.

Morning All.

Test drove the Model S 70D.

Drive started with no service alerts.

Part way through one alert popped up. Pic attached from service mode.

Can anyone comment on battery health?
Suprised there is only 59.8kw left? Or is the 4kw buffer above that?

Any other comments?

Thanks
Steve

When brand new, the battery would have had 68.8 kWh usable capacity and so after allowing for degradation and the 4 kWh buffer on the bottom end, those numbers look OK to me, particularly when I compare them to my S75 with 9% degradation after 94,000 miles. There are many people here who have a much better understanding of this than I do and so if I am wrong, someone should be along soon to give better advice!
