Do hotels normally charge for destination charging - a set amount or is it free in UK and Europe?
It really varies from hotel to hotel. A budget hotel will certainly charge, high end hotels may not consider it worth inconveniencing the guest
At the mid end, my experience is generally that they don't charge you in France, but they will in the UK, Germany, Etc.

Depending on how old the system is, they'll either be on a standard CPO which deals with charging, or if it's an old destination charger with no facility to meter, they'll charge a flat fee based on your vehicle and assume you'll charge to full (Eg 50kWh car = £25, 75kWh = £40, etc)

Granny charging at an airbnb is generally flat fee (£10 a night generally)
