RTP - Cannot pick up at SC?

Hello all!

So, I'm getting close to my delivery. In speaking with Tesla they are telling me that I cannot pick it up at the service center because they have no delivery specialists there. So, they are shipping it directly to me and I'll go over the car with a DS over the phone.

Is that typical for others in the area? I was sure I've read about others doing pickup at at the SC off Glennwood.

I know that the service center in Raleigh preps cars for delivery, but hadn't heard that they don't actually allow a customer to pickup their car there!

Having received my car well before the service center was open, my car was delivered to my door, and the next day a DS came by to make the transaction official.

While the service center folk and delivery specialists are definitely two different groups within Tesla, I don't see why that prevents one from meeting the DS at (or near to) the service center to finalize paperwork.

Plenty of coffee shops and other venues in the nearby Brier Creek area to meet the DS if they are against doing it at their small service center in the light industrial area near the airport.

They were doing deliveries at the service center, that's where I picked mine up at the beginning of the month.

Odd!

I'm being told there are no DS in the area at all, and that they will deliver to my house and do everything over the phone. My delivery window is currently July 6-10.

Perhaps it's a temporary situation.

I picked mie up there as well at th beginning of June. My delivery specialist was in PA. He offered to go over everything by phone but I declined. Maybe local deliveries are suspended while they complete the recall?

So I found out a little more.

I have a new DS now. Also in PA, I'm guessing the same guy (Brian?)

He explained that the old DS for NC moved on and they were trying to train a service tech to do the deliveries since they didn't have an in-house DS here. The old DS (Jamee) seems to have been promoted or something. She seemed to be having a tough time keeping up with my order. Things have been much smoother since Brian took over.

Anyway, looks like I'll be picking up at the SC on Glenwood sometime between the 15th and 17th!
