Rubber back door seals scratch the paint on the doorframe

Due to the heavy dirt on the door seals, I already see scratches on the back part of the doorframe made by the dirt on the seals contacting the paint when the door is opened/closed.
Is it normal? Is there any way to prevent that?

When you wash your car give them a wipe as well. But even clean weatherstrip will wear on the paint eventually.
Trucks on gravel roads are bad for this. I've seen some worn to the metal. But no rust!
