There are a ton of aftermarket accessories available for Tesla cars. One thing I have always done for my smartphones is add a very thin tempered glass cover over the screen. I'm wondering if such a thing has any benefit for the touchscreen in all Teslas? It seems to me that the Tesla screen (unlike the cellphone in my pocket) has almost no chance of being scratched or damaged in normal use.

Screen Protective Glass Necessary?

I installed the Spigen matte/anti-glare protector soon after I got my Y at the end of 2021. The provided installation “kit” makes it easy to install. I only drove the car for a week or 2 without the protector, but I noticed a difference immediately & prefer the matte finish. It definitely helps to avoid fingerprints, especially when I’m working on a bag of potato chips while I’m out & about.
