September 2021 Order Delivery Dates

For those with recently assigned VINs and delivery center calls or those recently with vehicles delivered, were you given a maximum window to take delivery?

Will be out of town for a few days during my estimated delivery window, so hoping to navigate this as best as possible if vehicle delivery becomes scheduled when away.

They give you a 3 day window to pick from for delivery day. If you can’t make that window, they give the car to the next person and you, usually, will get paired again in a few day. Very rarely, they let you slide on the 3 day window by a day or so. Again, very rarely

So.....I got an email from someone at Tesla asking me to make sure my payment method was up to date.

Alas, I had set to pay in full and now I can't switch back to loan.

That being said, is it safe to assume that if a human with a real address reaches out to you that the window is in pretty solid shape?

I was able to switch mine to loan after VIN assignment and even lowered the loan amount the day before delivery by calling customer service.

Delivery Center called. Car will be ready this afternoon (Wed) 1 day earlier! :) They called to ask if I wanted it today..... Me "ummm Yes!"
Delivery Complete! Disclaimer: I love the car! and accepted delivery after inspection and talking to delivery specialist, Rear hatch alignment and taillight were "out of spec" and written up by the Delivery Center to be fixed at Service Center. Delivery center aligned the Frunk while I was there but may need a little finesse at service center. All other concerns I reported Via the app for a service appointment including installation of home link garage door opener.

All doors closed very easily and did not require extra effort like I saw in some comments on TMC. AMD Ryzen confirmed via vehicle OS.
All concerns are easy fixes, You won't notice in the photos, I went through this with a 2013 model S... but much more back then.

Notes: Frunk hood needs alignment, Rear hatch needs more substantial alignment, Condensation in 1 rear tail light will possibly be replaced (it rained yesterday), Headliner has 1 scuff to be taken out. Other "scuffs in headliner" turned out to be loose lint that came right off.
I always liked the black 20+21" wheels but now seeing 19" in person I love them with MSM Paint. Same color scheme as my old Model S sitting behind the Y in one of the photos. Model S is the older Grey before MSM was born.

My delivery date is in 2 days, Feb 19. I have to say that so far I love the whole process of having ordered the car online, and now handling details like insurance, registration & plates, payment, etc via test messages and the phone app. They texted me Delivery Day Instructions and unless I find a problem, I'll only have to see a live person in order to hand them some signed documents which will be waiting for me in my car. Love it!

For anybody who has uninstalled their app and is waiting for a text update :) , four days after the VIN showed-up in the app, I finally got a SMS and email saying that the car was en-route to flyover country (Minnesota) and inviting me to schedule delivery. There was no other communication in those four days, so I was wondering if they were going to yank the VIN. But yes, they still gave me plenty of warning, both via SMS and email.

I uninstalled the app :) but I'm in Los Angeles, CA. For us its usually 4 days max between VIN assignment to Delivery.
