You lost me at "reasonable".
Speed limit to (looking around for cops... LOL) speed limit + 5. I even avoided the toll at the Benicia Bridge by taking the slightly longer route over Altimont Pass, then up 99 to Sacramento. It was morning time, so I probably turned the HVAC off. It was in August 2019, so I don't remember exactly.
But I've done a number of other drives up towards Donner Summit, and likewise on US 50 towards Tahoe, and never bother to charge on the way up. Did charge on the way home tho.
I've also done the Red Bluff Supercharger to home in one charge. The nav wants to stop at a Supercharger (e.g., Vacaville) on the way and starts to precondition the battery. So I have to tell the nav some intermediate destination instead so that it doesn't waste power on the preconditioning.
