Should I be worried?

Ordered an inventoried P3D with performance upgrade, Autopilot+FSD, and had appointment to pick it up tomorrow.

My wife got a call today, to say the car wasn't ready, it needed some 'Maintenance'! They couldn't tell my wife what sort of maintenance it needed, couldn't give a date. "Hopefully a week".

What sort of 'Maintenance' could be possibly be needed on a inventoried car?

You need to call them back and get an answer to your question. Maybe the person who called wasn't the right person to explain it, but somebody over there owes you an explanation.

Agree - no reason for them to hide that from you.

Ask specifically what the work order states

As much as you want the car soon and I don’t blame you. I agree, they have to divulge any incidents or work being done. It could very minor like a door latch, or what not.

But do your due diligence, check odometer and make sure it’s a brand new car.

If there’s one thing Tesla is good at, it’s keeping records.

I think they are just going through a mess in the delivery logistics. There are just too many appointments being pushed with the same reason. Maintenance on a brand new car..ok.
