Slip start is amazing!

With over 190 CMS of snow so far this winter in Ottawa, I have been using the often overlooked ( by me) slip start feature. It has worked super well and gotten be out of unplowed parking spaces several times this year.I have Michelin x-ice tires on but they did not work until I engaged the SS button.Thanks Elon!

I'm surprised you've needed it with AWD. I've used it a few times on our 3 LR RWD and it has mostly been effective, but a couple times even that didn't help. Had to endure some mockery from truck drivers (it's truck country here after all) to get a push. Haven't come close to needing slip start once on our X though, but to be fair, it's its first winter.

You need to see to believe the size of the snow banks here in the Nations Capital! Backing into one when parking quickly taught me the benefits of the SS.

By default the car really doesn't like to slip at all. Even an AWD. Using Slip Start at least accepts a couple percent of slipping. It's still not enough to do nice controlled drifts but at least it helps in deep snow. Offroad Mode, which I can now use with the S3XY buttons, seems to allow a bit more slip even, although still no drifting.

TBF, I’ve only ever used SS at truck pulls.
