This mission will launch South Korea's first satellite as part of the country's Project 425 reconnaissance satellite program for the military. The project will consist of another set of four satellites to be launched at a later time. This first satellite is an electro-optical infrared telescope aimed at conventional high-resolution imaging in the visible and infrared part of the spectrum while the remaining four will utilize Synthetic Aperture Radar - or SAR - technology to have all-weather surveillance capabilities. The mass of the satellite is estimated to be approximately 800kg
Along with this satellite, a number of undetermined rideshares are also flying onboard Falcon 9. Total payload mass of these rideshares is unknown at this time.
