Pretty sure it's always been that way, they haven't released the data packages for Canada yet so everybody has it for free.

It used to be only music and video streaming though, it did not include those two specific things (traffic and satellite view).

You might have it. You have to turn it on.

Tap on the map. On the right side a vertical bar appears. Tap on the boxes there. One puts it into traffic visualization mode. Another put on the satellite view.
