Sticker plate in Japan

Simple question: are sticker plates (pics attached) allowed in Japan?

Can’t speak to the law but I’ve never seen that type. Also, as the plate in Japan has a special seal over one of the attachment screws, I’m sure you can’t.

It is illegal to obscure the license plates in front and back. A front license plate is mandatory, and the rear is sealed so you can't remove or reattach.

Short answer: Nope.
Longer answer: Only the metal plates are used here. My guess is that it will be a long time before a sticker-style plate shows up here.
