Not sure if this has been posted already but anyone else think the reduced FSD price is a push to get sales up in Q2? From a profitability perspective, people upgrading to FSD has no cost associated with it as the hardware is already there.

Still long TSLA but wondering if there will be a dip after the Q2 numbers.

I think that is. exactly the point - There was an article that Elon sent an email to employees about going "all out" to make Q2 numbers... There are often a few goodies when he is trying to do so...

There is a dip anyway - but no need to worry... long in TSLA for sure...

Demand growth for the Model Y will be so sharp it's logical to pull demand forward brand-wide for 2Q. Tesla is in a great position for what people are now realizing is going to be a looong recovery. Lean operations, profitable, and supply constrained.

Isn't the FSD reduction is for current owners. There will be pull forward of FSD upgrade sales, but not of vehicles. FSD pricing goes up $1k July 1, so that will be an anti-dip factor as it will pull ahead orders (including card that won't be delivered in Q2), and boost revenues afterward.

They probably wouldn’t do this if they were struggling, because in that case a few more millions in Autopilot revenue would not make much of a difference. It would make a difference if those few million extra would push them to profitability and S&P 500 inclusion. So these discounts are probably good news.
