Looks good this morning, shiny new green box, fence going up around the equipment and parking blocks being installed.

Swung by again today. Didn't take any pics, but something was happening there I don't quite understand. There was a red model 3 parked inside the gated area and a couple of people working. There was what appeared to be new supercharger shells leaning against each of the 8 superchargers. My assumption was the current covers were going to be replaced with these new ones, although I have no idea why since they appeared complete last week when I was last in the area. Anyway, my workplace is like 10 minutes away, so 'll keep this thread updated.

The techs from Tesla take off the back of the shells to get at the charging post internals and often just lean them against the remaining bit or lay them down next to it. My guess is that's what you saw, not full shell replacements. So, this could be them inspecting the installation or getting the location ready for commissioning. From your last set of pics, I didn't see either the switchgear or the utility transformer installed yet. Though there was that empty space with the conduit stubs sticking up near the supercharger cabinets which could possibly have been for either or both. If you go back and take more pics, try to get a shot that shows what, if anything, they've put in there. Thanks for the update.

Here's a picture from a different install location (Chico, CA) that shows what I was talking about--the back of the supercharger shell being taken off and leaned against the remaining bits--really well. Though this particular picture was probably taken from the other side of the superchargers than DavidElg was looking at them from. Easy to see how it might look like there's a second set of shells there and that the whole thing is being replaced. Especially if one is taking pictures from the front side where all you see is a normal looking supercharger and what looks like a second shell.

I just left. Construction fence is still up, however the site seems clean and ready for it to come down. Tried to take a few more shots of all the large electrical enclosures, but didn't spot anything like the high voltage switch gear.

Larry, I think that smaller white cabinet might be their switchgear. I've seen something similar at one other relatively recent location, but am having trouble remembering which one. If I can figure it out, I'll try to find pics and compare layouts to see whether that other site also had something more like the type of switchgear from your post or if that smaller cabinet was it.

You might be right. Since the permit called for 4 autotransformers, I originally thought that this box might house them or a step-up transformer.

Just went by, there's a guy installing more landscaping around the boxes, but the fences are still up.

UPDATE: The fences are down!! ..but we still aren't operational quite yet. The superchargers are still wrapped in plastic as you can see from my pic below. The meter still needs to be installed, and then I imagine we will be up and running. I'm thinking this could potentially happen any day now.

Just wanted to thank everyone who has been providing updates for this supercharger site. I am headed to Disney again within the next 2 weeks and hopefully will get use this location by then!!!

One of our club members who lives in Celebration left the site an hour ago and Duke Energy is done with turning on the juice. The technician advises that final inspection is called for tomorrow and all expectations are that the chargers will be operating this weekend.
