Tail lights not coming on consistently when it is raining?

I mean both the headlights and tail lights are not on (other than whatever accent lighting is always on in the front).

So, it appears that wipers trigger the equivalent of DRLs, whatever that is on your trim. If you have signature lights it's just that. If you don't, then it's the headlights.

DRLs don't trigger tail lights.

IMO, they should. How many Watts does it take to run a couple tail lights and lower intensity headlights or signature lights. Leave them on 24/7 for better visibility IMO.

So, for that matter, Tesla should just have a setting to let you leave them "ON" and turn off the nag warning that you are parking your car with lights on.

If the green headlight icon on the right side of the car status section is on, the headlights and tail lights should be on. If they aren’t, it’s a bug that needs to be fixed.

Or one could make the argument that the green headlight icon is for the headlights only, so that's not a bug ... and then you could argue that it's a bug to not turn the tail light icon on when you turn the headlights on in the dark :)

In the US, the headlights (full headlights and tail lights) will turn on when rain is detected. However, there is a delay, so it doesn’t happen right away. If the rain is light enough, it’s possible for the full headlights to not come on, leaving you with only the front signature lights on. Sometimes the lights will turn on and off every few minutes as the rain gets lighter or heavier.

The system does a good job overall, but it isn’t perfect. It’s best if you turn the lights on manually in these transient weather conditions and not rely on the automatic system to do it for you.

I think that's what everyone on this thread was expecting, but is not witnessing.
