Tesla arranged loan

I have completed the prepare for delivery steps after receiving that '100% of Deliveries Start Online' email, thinking that they have my MY built. Have no MVPA/VIN up till now. I have been told that they don't know when the VIN will be assigned, they have no idea when that will be because it is assigned by the system.

Why on earth would they ask for loan approval when they have no VIN assigned? I have already taken a hit on my credit score. And when the car don't get delivered within the validity of the loan, then I would need to re-apply, upon which another hard inquiry will be done and another hit on my credit score. Is this a proper business practice?

It would not be unusual for a company to see if you are credit worthy before beginning assembly of your car.

Lenders are used to seeing inquires when people are car shopping.

The rate your lender will offer you is dependent on what they see of your credit history.
