Model 3 paint wearing off

Independent goods inspector inspected affected Tesla Model 3. Tesla's representative was present and provided Tesla's paint thickness standards (put did not allow them to be published). Goods inspector found, that car's paint thickness was clearly below Tesla's owns standards and paint hardness was clearly below industry standards.

Goods inspector is independent third party, who is specialized to the field he works in.

Here is the owner of the car who is very disappointed to Tesla + a lot others too.

Here is my car after 4 week usage. It had defects already on the delivery. Tesla Model 3 after 1300 miles - Google Drive

I add our group complain from www.nonono.com here. Consumer advocacy service

We are two Tesla owners, Joni from Finland and Roger-Pierre from Canada. We were really excited to become Tesla owners and we really loved our cars.

However, there are two deeply concerning issues that we want to address:
1. We are not satisfied with the quality of the paint on Model 3
2. We are also not satisfied with how Tesla treats their customers who have paid a lot of money for its cars

It is clear that the quality of the Tesla Model 3 paint is not up to standards. The paint started to wear out from both of our cars soon after the handover.

The problems with Roger-Pierre’s car were remarkably visible only after 12,000 miles. The paint had worn out in large chunks.

It was even worse with Joni’s car. Several issues with the paint were already discovered during the handover. There were various traces of paint and debris under the paint and several scratches were also found.

However the problem soon became a lot worse. Incredibly, the wear and tear could be easily noticed in several places only after 1,300 miles! The paint started to wear off from the rocker panels, front fenders, rear fenders, and both front doors.

We have documented all the problems in detail with photos and videos. We have reached out to Tesla, but Tesla refuses to be held accountable.

Evidently, Tesla is claiming these issues are not within its warranty.

We find this disrespectful towards customers.

Tesla is claiming the owners should have realized to protect their cars with mudguards and paint protection film. If this was the case, why didn’t Tesla advise Model 3 owners about this in advance?

And even if Tesla had warned Model 3 owners in advance, it doesn’t change the fact that the paint on Model 3 is far inferior compared to any other manufacturers’ cars. Other manufacturers’ cars don’t get damaged after only a couple of thousand miles, even if there are no mudguards or other protection.

The difference in quality between a regular paint quality and Model 3 paint quality is so obvious that it is unbelievable how Tesla is refusing to admit these issues are due to its poor production quality.

Seriously - paint wearing out after 1300 miles is normal wear and tear?

If the paint starts to wear out in normal use after only a couple of thousand miles, then there is clearly something fundamentally wrong in its production line and Tesla needs to take responsibility.

We contacted the Consumer Authoritites in Finland and and I Canada but Tesla still refused to be held accountable.

Tesla owners in Canada have already sued Tesla and Finnish Tesla owners are planning to follow suit.

We have learned that we are not alone with these issues. We have a list of more than 100 Model 3 owners and we have read complaints from hundreds of others.

We feel Tesla should be held accountable. Tesla should pay the costs of fixing these issues.

That is why we are inviting all Tesla Model 3 owners who are not happy with their Model 3 paint to join this group complaint.

If you are a Tesla Model 3 owner who is also suffering from this paint issue, please join us in this group complaint. Post a comment and share your story and the following details of your car
- Model
- Color
- Location
- Mileage when you noticed the issues
- Links to photos or videos of your car

Let’s send a message to Tesla together. #TeslaPaintIssues #TeslaQualityIssues #NoNoNo

We also invite you to join our Facebook Group “Model 3 owners worldwide with paint issues” complete link: Tesla Model 3 owners worldwide with paint issues for further discussion.

Let’s hope Tesla will come to its senses and fix the issues

No more to add here.

BTW. I call my model 3 at this day primer 3 because the base primer is showing everywhere?!?
