Tesla Model S 2018 driver display goes black when braking

Hi wonder if anyone has seen this behavior before, when i hit the brakes the driver display goes black...video

Can you reset by pressing the two center scroll wheel buttons + brake and holding them for 10 seconds, then release them? After about 1 - 2 minutes, do the same for the top left and right buttons on either side of the steering wheel.

If this doesn't help, I think you will want to drive to the Tesla Service Center and drop it off, since it's potentially a safety hazard. You'll also need an appointment in the app, I believe. They hopefully can move it up to the date you drop it off.

I’d check your brake lights. Could be something wrong and it causes a voltage drop which impacts the screen. Just a guess. If either miss function that is surely the problem.

hi thanks, i did a reset of the displays doesnt make any differrence, i did notice that its only happening when the lights are and i manually brake - i am suspecting now the 12v batterie ..

replaced the 12v battery today with one from OHMMU ENERGY, when removed the orginal one it had 6v charge, hope this was the issue keep you posted!

Allright bad news , it still happens only strange thing is it happens when its wet outside so i will start checking and remove the tail lights

There's a ground post under the frunk that should be checked.

Ground Stud Nut over torqued

Title of related thread above.

It's easy to spot after removing the tub, might be able to get to it if the front is on ramps and under cover removed.
