Tesla Model S P100D excessive whine between 30 and 40 mph.

I bought a new S P100D about a month ago, recently I have noticed excessive whine between 30 and 40 mph. When I initially picked the car up I was thrilled at the lack of whine compared to our S 85D. Now I am noticing excessive whine noise between 30 and 40 mph. Anyone else having excessive whine? (Note: I have never used Ludicrous plus mode, nor have I done any standing start acceleration tests with it, yet.)

It does indeed. On an 85 D, the front motor whines a little at a certain speed range. With range mode enabled, the “torque sleeping” of the rear motor increases the load on the front motor and extends the speed range in which you can hear the front motor.
