Tesla Shows Off Ventilator Built With Model 3 Parts

Tesla’s ventilator developed to help meet the demand caused by COVID-19 will be “heavily based on Tesla car parts,” according to a video the company released.

“We wanna use parts that we know really well, we know the reliability of, and they’re available in volume,” an engineer explained in the video.

One of the recognizable parts used is the touchscreen display from the Model 3. The ventilator also leverages suspension parts from the sedan, among others.

Tesla is partnering with medical equipment manufacturer Medtronic to produce ventilators at the automaker’s Fremont, Calif. factory.

Nice work in such a short period of time. As a person who co-pioneered respiratory monitoring decades ago, I'm not seeing an important "feedback" loop which most modern ventilators have. Perhaps there and not explained, but would be nice to have if it isn't.
