Just got my VIN! Its 33XXX, does that mean it is a recent build?

They called me with the VIN and I forgot to ask about build date, new vehicle vs customer return, etc. She did state that if I get all my loan information in I should expect the vehicle within 2-3 weeks

LR, Turbine, White/Black, NO FSD or Hitch, Dallas.
crazy fast VIN and follow up from a real Tesla CSR! I'm thinking you will get your delivery much sooner than 2-3 weeks.

Hi!

I'm planning to order a MY soon and I plan to lease with either USAA or Alliant.

My current spec on the website equals to 52,990.00 before I order. I read somewhere that orders in Texas are not immediately taxed and have to be paid within 30 days of receiving the car. Is this true? If that's the case when applying for a loan, should I include fees + taxes in my loan request or should I pay taxes separately out of my pocket? When does my down payment apply in the loan process?

My first car that I financed I used the dealers bank directly, so I'm kind of unfamiliar with the process.

It is true. You will need to pay your taxes and other registration fees after you get your car. I didn't ask about rolling the taxes into the loan when I set it up. Since Tesla is not part of the registration process, I'm not sure if the bank or credit union can do a separate payment for the taxes. You should ask them but I would be prepared to pay it yourself.

I'm hoping that now that Tesla has announced the factory in Austin, Tesla's relationship with Texas changes as in the future the purchase process will be more like conventional auto purchases.

Did anyone else receive a text similar to this before delivery?

"Tesla Update - Get ready to meet your Model Y!

Because deliveries are currently touchless or minimal contact, please get to know your Model Y prior to your upcoming delivery by watching these videos at tesla.com/support/meet-your-tesla"

If you got it, how long after were you able to pick up the car?

No text, but I was just handed over to the local delivery team by the Delivery Support Specialist in Las Vegas.
The specialist up till now have been fantastic. Typical, response within 1 hr, sometimes minute. I hoping that the local Houston guys will continue the excellent communication.......

The bit about the taxes being paid separate is true, and that’s a good question. I would call your

Hi Y’all :)
Just ordered LR AWD MSM BW AP 20” today. Rep is saying 4-8 weeks, so will wait. Funny they got exactly my car today for test drives lol, so I had a chance to be 100% sure it’s what I want.
Will finance it but going to pay taxes separately, less hassle.

-Payment has to be paid in full before they can deliver the car into Texas. So secure the loan and make sure the lender wires the full payment over to Tesla. Then Tesla will give you a VIN and delivery date

-Registration and taxes have to be paid out of pocket. Tesla doesn't take care of this like they would do in California for example. So you don't need to factor that into your loan. Your loan should total the cost in the MVPA Tesla will give you.

-If you're going to put a downpayment (on top of the $100 reservation fee), reach out to the Inside Delivery Specialist (they'll eventually reach out to you after you make your reservation and the web portal to manage your vehicle has been created). Inform them you want to make a downpayment and how much. They will then update the web portal for you to make a payment (direct transfer to Tesla). Once that downpayment is paid, they can update the MVPA to reflect the new principle balance. This MVPA goes to your lender for them to put together the funds to pay off the vehicle and to start your loan.

Hope that makes sense and helps

When I filled out the information online, I selected that I would be securing my own financing. It then asked how much I would be financing and with whom.
From there it showed me what my out of pocket/down payment would be (ex: car worth 55k, loan for 45k, 10k down payment).

The MVPA reflected these numbers. I sent the MVPA to my CU, they cut a cashier check and sent it to Tesla. When I logged into my portal, I had an option to pay the rest of the balance and it deducted it straight from my bank account.

waiting to schedule pickup date. Expected within 2 weeks.

That was not my experience. I was asked how much I was financing, the remainder I had to transfer (ACH) to make sure it was paid in full.

Well, he called me and asked how much I would finance,so maybe it would be reflected later how much I need to pay Tesla and it would be the same experience as yours. But first time he told me whole amount will go from finance institution and they do not care about down payment at all...go figure!
