USB 32 Gig inadequate

micro SD card (high endurance) in 128GB + USB card adapter. *much* better than any USB stick. High endurance micro SD cards are designed to be overwritten constantly... USB sticks really aren't.

This is simply not true.

The form factor does nothing to make one "better" than the other beyond the SDcard introducing an additional point of failure (the USB to SDcard adapter- and indeed we've had numerous posts of folks having dashcam issues and that being the problem)

Both use flash memory. It's literally the same tech.

There are certainly different endurance ratings on different types of flash- but they make both SDcards AND USB sticks with all types.

Mind you- you don't get any value out of buying "high endurance" unless you wanna pass the dashcam footage down to your grandkids.

The math on this has been provided repeatedly in other threads- a 128GB decent quality USB stick is rated to handle roughly 11 years of use for Sentry/Dashcam based on the current amount of data the car writes in typical usage.

"high endurance" flash will indeed be good longer... something like 20-25 years in comparable use.

A 256GB stick would last twice as long for either type.

I can't think of any situations where one would need 10+ year old dashcam footage still sitting on the original storage and never archived, but I guess if you do- sure- go high endurance.
