I have a 2016 MX 90D with VIN under 2000. The questions I would ask are:
- Do you have service records?
- Do the service records show replacement of the front axle and jack shafts (the issue was shaking upon strong acceleration)
- This vehicle included free life time super charging. A very nice benefit. However if the MX has gone through Tesla (like a lease return) this benefit may have been removed. Verify by taking the vehicle to a super charging station, plug in and see what happens.
- Get a ladder and check the rubber seal on the front and rear edge of the glass on top of the falcon wing doors. The seal can crack and tear. Also, with FWD open, check the seal is not torn. This is a warranty item.
- Turn on the heated front seats to max. This takes a few minutes. Does BOTH the seat bottom and back warm up on both seats.
- The two second row seats of a 6-seater can move forward/backward/tilt. Do all three functions work? There is an issue with the Strut Rod Assembly on these seats. Again, warranty issue.
Plus check that everything functions as it should, eg. center console sliding doors closes when pushed (stays open too), all window and door buttons work, etc.
