This is gonna be one of those "wow someone actually bought one" cars. Sort of like the Cadillac ELR.

That is the limit on the 2015 and 2016 models. The 2017 has a top speed of 93mph (150km/h). There was a mistake on the pricing press release.

Certainly there is a market for normal looking and familiar to operate cars that happen to be electric. The 2017 e-Golf is probably the best executed example of this. People can deride it for being an ICE conversion, but VW has certainly done a much better job of it than Ford, mostly because the cargo area is completely uncompromised.

The current range increase from 84 to 125 EPA miles will push it over the hump of usability for a large fraction of the people who were not comfortable with the prior range.
