As for reading the UI, regeneration will not recover energy at any higher rate that would move the "needle" into the dashed area.
You'll occasionally see dashes at the top end as well, when power is limited. That's much less common (at least the way I drive) and doesn't necessarily indicate a problem, either.
I'm seeing this line and my battery is around 60% and the car's been sitting in weather between 40-50°f all day... Output seems to limit out at 300kw also.

A few days ago it was 42 degrees with no rain and it took half of my 30 mile commute home for the 50% limited regen to disappear. The car was parked outside at work.
