What is Company Number asked during registration

What is “Company Number”?

Trying to register my Model X. Selected to register for both myself (individual) and company.

It’s asking for a company number. I tried phone number, state ID, number, no luck.

What am I missing?

I’ve tried every possible format I can think of. it says “format undefined” and won’t let me continue.

Ok, I'm out of ideas.

Maybe try "420" or "69".

My CPA advised this to take full effect of Section 179 / Bonus Depreciation / Commercial Clean Vehicle Credit. This will be a business vehicle.

Cool! Pretty sure you’ll have to split the ownership between the company and yourself, and keep good records, which means you will not be able to write-off 100% of the car. In any case, your CPA should know best. Good luck!

I just ordered the Tesla X and started paperwork for registration for myself and my company. The process asked for Company Number.

I tried State SoS, company phone number, nothing worked. The format just says Undefined. I can't move on to the next step without it. Anyone have any idea?

Try your phone number with spaces… XXX XXX XXXX. This hung me up for a while

I struggled with this too. Really odd that the programmers didn't do this better. It finally worked when I used the phone number formatted exactly like (XXX) XXX-XXXX

Crazy it programmed like that. Also, the step before wants a SSN or an ITIN. EIN doesn't work in this step, we are looking to have the business claim the tax rebate, so we don't want an individual SSN here. Do we just put the EIN here and wait for someone to reach out?

I had same issue. They told me I had to click company and myself. When I called for help they had me undo it as they had no clue and said we will fix later, my order went thru then
