Took my shiny new Model S home; parked it in the garage and popped the trunk to access the charger. Guess what? The trunk lid is MUCH longer than my old car and it crashed into the raised garage door.
Yeah, heart attack...
Fortunately, didn't do any real damage.
Solution - you can set the trunk lid to only open part way. Just hit the open/close button on the key fob; as it is opening click the open/close button on the key fob again to stop it at the desired height, preferably before it hits your garage door. Then, while it's in the position you want hold down the close button on the trunk lid (NOT the key fob) for two seconds until it beeps. Now the trunk lid should always open to the set position.
